MEMPHIS
HIGH SCHOOL TOP TEN
3-10-08 Weekly Breakdown
This poll consists of school
within West Tennessee (Mississippi River to Jackson,
Tn.), Desoto County and West Memphis Arkansas counties.
A major shakeup in the poll and
the most visible of all year. BTW loses to Mitchell in
MIAA City championship AA and Ridgeway does the same with a
loss to Central in
MIAA City Championship AAA. Union City is
the new number 1 and I know they are not in the Memphis
region but Hoopers staff is covering teams from
Mississippi River to Jackson, Tn., Desoto County and
West Memphis Arkansas counties.
Another point of interest for all
the inquiries I receive on the weekly poll, it is just
being fair and that is the bottom line,
(All teams in poll have a fair
chance, no one just jumps in the poll from no where.
Strength of schedule does matter tremendously in the
poll and health wise for the team in the long run during
postseason).
Dyer County moves to the
2 slot with it's extraordinary season. Manassas moves
back up to the 3 spot after it held it for majority of
the first half of the season before injuries set in.
Raleigh Egypt up to the 4 spot with major games on the
horizon. Central notches it's first quality win over
Ridgeway to hush the critics. Hernando, Ms. wins the
district on the North half with a win over number 1
ranked Oxford in championship game. St. George's keeps
rolling thru postseason action in D2 small league. BTW
falls to the 8 slot after crucial loss to Mitchell.
Kirby suffers a close loss to fall respectively.
Ridgeway was the biggest dropper with a mild upset
against Central.
