News 1-16-13:
District Action:
Memphis
Melrose
gets demolished by
White Station
81-54
and their 5 year run dominating 16-AAA might
be coming to an end. Their is still time but with
Jemerio Jones
&
Markell Crawford
of
Melrose
on the injured list hinders their
opportunities. After a strong start
Memphis Central
with that 2 point loss to
Whitehaven two weeks
set the stage for the descent and fast.
Sheffield
and
Mitchell
on course for deciding 16-AA with
Trezevant
and Manassas on the other side. The same for
Ridgeway
and
Southwind
in 15-AAA. BTW and
Westwood in Division A
will meet in city championship accordingly.

News 1-13-13:
Penny Hardaway Hoop Fest:
Memphis teams did horrible this year against
national teams going 1-5. Hoopers Top Ten will have a
new team and for the first time this year at the Number
1 slot
Dyer County
and how long will the
Choctaws
hold that spot after only losing 1 game so
far this year and yeah maybe not against the best teams
but they are winning. I know
Southwind
only 4 losses have been to
nationally ranked teams but will that translate into
postseason advancement, Bottomline!
On the other hand will not
playing a tough schedule hinder, well all questions will
be answered in less than 4 weeks. Oh yeah when you lose
what happens you usually drop and depends on to who and
how bad, you still drop not stay the same or even move
up, you still lost.

News 1-09-13:
On Your Mind:
That's a good line, Lol. I get a lot of
flack for not having certain teams ranked as high.
Perfect example
Southwind
lost two games out of town but are still Number 1
in local newspaper rankings. Also I know the teams they
lost to were nationally ranked in national polls in the
Top Ten. That's great like the movie Talladega Nights
where Will Ferrell says "if your not first you came
last". Another one is
Melrose
losing to two Hoopers Top Ten members in the same week
but still ranked highly in same publication and one of
the teams
Sheffield
never in preseason polls respectively. Tell that to the
NCAA selection committee, don't whine just go out their
and take care of business. Nothing to both ball clubs
mentioned but therefore see you in TSSAA State in
Murfreesboro, not just a sub state appearance thereof. |
