Cordova
I don't know what to say
upsets
Dyer County
in overtime to make a 4 team Memphis try for regional
finals going to sub state. Like mentioned before Coach
Scales gots to be Coach of the Year in the Hoopers
Book.
Dyer County
is resembling Mississippi teams that do great during the
season but falter at the end. That's why for example
like the NCAA Selection Committee they harp on schedules
and after you look at Dyer County schedule you say it's
too easy which in return comes back to bite you in the
behind!!
Hillcrest
keeps rolling with win over Kingsbury to meet
BTW,
them Warriors seem to be there at the end and a good way
to go out as the last year playing Division AA The big
dogs
Melrose
and
White Station
meet in the Regional championship where both teams
should meet in Murfreesboro for a rematch from last
years TSSAA championship game.

Major disappointment team of the
season is the
Bartlett Panthers
losing to
Arlington
in first round action of district and bad end of the
regular season.
Southwind
seems to be falling apart with 2 consecutive losses to
Ridgeway.
Northside
with 7 players win their district championship game over
Kingsbury
and surprises everybody.
Kirby
over
Overton
was minor but the win over
Germantown
was a big one. The team playing the best ball right now
is the
Ridgeway
Roadrunners.
Craigmont
seems to shake off late season losses to win their third
straight district title.
Melrose
and
White Station
might repeat as the TSSAA state championship game in
Division AAA.
Melrose
with it's late season surge overtakes as the team at the
Number 1 slot the most of this 2011 basketball season. A
win tonight at
White Station
in teh championship game will take them to 5 weeks at
the spot and a great time of the year to be at that
position but there is still a lot of basketball in the
next two weeks.

News 1-31-10:
Nitty Gritty:
Senior
rankings will definitely have a facelift with many
multiple risers and fallers in recent poll. Players
missing off the senior rankings include,
Jarvis
Sullivan, Charlie Waters, Jessie Holland, Phillip Mays,
Dominique Harris, Denzel Hardy, Brandon Bishop, Diere
McElroy.
Senior Rankings Updated click here
to name a few. The players with rankings to fall due to
injury like
John Ingram
and a transfer who should of never transferred in
Joe

- went from a school where you were a shoe in for Best
of the Preps to non existent. Why leave to follow a
dream of please tell me what was the reason, I'm gasping
for words. November 10 excerpt for subscribers can read
the prediction on this one.
Also another factor Hoopers staff takes in is if your
high school team is losing that effects your rankings
tremendously because if you think you are a hell of a
player you should be carrying your team like a winner
especially on the high school level. Totally different
from college compadres. You will still be considered but
at a lower ranking due to athletic ability but you might
be a turnover machine, a lot of variables to consider.
And again it is just a mere ranking, kids sometimes need
an extra year of maturing and that is serious business.
JUCO is another year of high school to a sense fro many
kids.
